Christian rocker John Cox
hails from Chico Texas and specializes in a musical style that combines the radio-friendly sounds of Train and Matchbox Twenty with a twist of Led Zepplin . At the age of 15, he penned his first Christian-based song, eventually relocating to Nashville to pursue a musical career. Signing to the Questar/Mission label, 1999 saw the release of his debut album, Sunny Day
which had several top tens on that record.
Cox supported the album by opening shows for such acclaimed Christian rock groups as Code of Ethics and Petra
, Casting Crown and Third Day
. Although Cox's label decided to focus on other areas outside of music, he went back into the studio and recorded ten tracks, which he released himself in 2004 as the album 80 Years
on His Grace Alone Record label which is still getting airplay on college radio. In 2005 John signed on as a writer for Warner Chapel.
For the past few years John has been touring, releasing records, co-writing and being an encourager for the body of Christ. Check out his catalog on ITunes
