John Cox is the son of a quarryman and a piano - guitar - fiddle playing mother. Born and raised in Chico Texas (population 800) In high school, John studied trumpet and fiddle but, after discovering Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin, he was sold on guitar. After moving to Nashville,
John's talent as a songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and performer became evident. He recorded the critically acclaimed CD titled “Sunny Day” and hit the road supporting Petra. John presented himself for what he is; a man in love with God and family, possessing a timeless musical and artistic sensibility. The audiences respond to his heartfelt performances and open, honest ministry. John's new CD “Sanctuary” is musically compelling, intense, hard edged acoustic rock; Matchbox 20 meets Train meets Led Zeppelin. The lyrics are searching, encouraging and uplifting. They spring from John's deep sense of intimacy and love of Christ; something with which people can connect. The songs sneak up on you and gently capture your heart. “Sanctuary” is the beautifully simple, authentic, guitar driven stuff of real life. It is John Cox; |
